Invoice Home did not have a brand identity outside of its logo and needed a brand style guide.

Create a Brand Style Guide

 Context

The Invoice Home app and logo were designed long before management considered the importance of creating a brand identity. I initiated this task because it would help the company appear more consistent across various channels, build brand equity to increase audience awareness, appear more polished for future PR endeavors, and give the company a reference when designing marketing materials. I also needed to get the approval of the marketing team and CEO who at the time was unsure of the importance of this task.

My role

lead writer, designer, marketer, PR coordinator

How I helped

  • Researched and profiled target audiences, sketching primary user personas

  • Developed the brand positioning statement

  • Created several taglines, eventually narrowing them down to the winner

  • Collaborated with the marketing team to decide on the typography, color palette, and photography guidelines.

  • Designed and put together the brand guidelines and presented them to the team and CEO

  • Once the brand guidelines were done, we realized we also needed to create a new mobile app logo and favicon
